axis 2: commitment intensity: dedicated vs. casual - basically, how hard you need to think about this game

short timescale, dedicated commitment: fast-paced roguelikes such as Spelunky
short timescale, casual commitment: most shmups
long timescale, dedicated commitment: RPGs with complex gameplay systems, most metroidvanias (especially ones that don't have a map system that shows everything)
long timescale, casual commitment: challenge platformers, large platformers, sandbox games?
