Small displays of compassion make me happy

While I was eating at Subway, a homeless man walked in with a Wendy's cup and asked the cashier for water because he'd been walking in the August heat. 

The cashier not only told him to go ahead and get water from the soda fountain, but started having a light conversation with him. Not anything special, but you know...he was friendly.

I liked that a lot.
