Burger King feels like a zombie corporation

am I alone in feeling this way?

Comments

  • I enjoy Burger King's food.
  • Same. Tendercrisp Chicken Sandwich is one of my favorites from their menus.
  • They've been discounting their chicken nuggets and I've been eating a ton of them.

They also had $1 ICEEs for a while and I rediscovered ICEEs.

And they had this 2 for $5 deal where I'd regularly get their Big Fish sandwiches.

And they had this 2 for $4 deal on breakfast sandwiches too.

Tip: BK's breakfast items are better than McDonald's.

Gotta be thrift with money to have enough to spend on the drugs. :v

I don't know, it just feels like somehow, Burger King isn't relevant anymore. I mean the ones near me haven't just up and vanished, and they still have TV ads and stuff, but Burger King just feels dead.

It's the 5th biggest fast food chain in the world. 4th biggest if you don't count Starbucks.

Relevancy? Who cares? Food is food.

Honestly I feel that sometimes relevancy is massively overrated.
  • I grew up with Happy Meals and then one day BK started having Pokémon toys.

    I was torn back then.

Now, the only thing I ever get from McD's is McChickens and apple pies.
  • Sup bitches, witches, Haters, and trolls.
the one near UCLA, famous for being where dave strider took a selfie, is now a chik-fil-a
  • Oh, the apple pies from McD are neat. Now I want some. Thanks Glenn. >:T

There's this one building at George Mason U that has both a Taco Bell and a Chick-fil-A next to each other.  Also a sports bar but that's more so for sit-down food (despite the food still being shit).

The Taco Bell almost always has a shorter line than the Chick-fil-A.

Well, that suits me, since I never buy from Chick-fil-A.

Some days I almost feel an obligation to try to support them, because I like the fact that they're there and I want them to stay in business.  Though it's been harder since a knockoff-Chipotle place opened in another building.
  • Taco Bell is eh.. plus it kinda doesn't agree with my colon.

Chick-fil-A has some decent good, chicken is a little greasy though. Do like the waffle fries though.

They don't offer them two for a dollar anymore :(

That just means you gotta find times to treat yourself. :V

I know when I see something I want on a menu I tend not to let price get in my way.

    Sometimes I do too, tbh

I agree, AU...Burger King is just kinda there
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
Burger King just doesn't have the soul it once had.

Fortunately, I don't expect that from fast food joints. I just expect a freakin' burger and fries.
  • I'm not sure what soul it ever had.  Unless you count the BK Kids or something.

Burger King's wholehearted embrace of the 1990s continues to define the brand in my mind

It was around well before then, but like half the Burger Kings around here weren't updated since the 1990s until the renovation fairy got them

I was actually kidding about it ever having soul.

I was kind of taken aback by that statement
  • Burger King is the only cheap place to eat around here that is not McDonald's, for this it has my respect.

Tho currently the nearby one is closed for renovations.

I hate the new wave of Burger Kings

They contribute to my perception of BK as a dying husk

What's wrong with them and why do they give you that perception?
  • OK, well, I don't know what to tell you mack.
  • I do not understand what is the problem. At all.

I haven't been in one in a while but they just feel...off to me

The one nearest our old house opened in 2008 but closed for several months last year after a nasty grease fire
