Suntan lotion is what first comes to mind, but sunscreen is acceptable too.

I would probably understand sun cream, but I would look askance at it.

I usually said "sunblock" as a kid but now default to "sunscreen" fsr

I burn really easily (fair-skinned brunette) and I also have vitiligo, so I try to stay out of the sun as much as I can.

I call it "sunblock" because it's too high an SPF to be simply "sunscreen" and "sun cream" or "suntan lotion" to me sounds like something that would invite tanning as opposed to blocking burning.

There's also "avoiding that evil burny thing in the sky".
