  • We can do anything if we do it together.
Interesting how Neil Gaiman can make issues that are basically extended monologues compelling.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
I think Sandman is sufficient proof of the validity of the public domain.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
The chibi characters were really cute.
  • Munch munch, chomp chomp...
I'm pretty sure that is objectively false.

Also glad you're enjoying it. Makes me excited for this summer.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
    Hey, it's the bird.

I thought that you weren't opening this thread until you read it yourself. :P
  • Munch munch, chomp chomp...
I've been clicking it every so often because of the notifications, then clicking back out.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
    I've been there.

I think Sandman is sufficient proof of the validity of the public domain.

    For some things, maybe.

But I don't ever want anything I write to be in the greedy little hands of the public domain!

    HANDS OFF, FUTURE AUTHORS!
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
    Anyway, good volume.

Weirdly enough, the most ambitious story in the volume (#50) was once again the one I felt the most ambiguous about.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
Now it is time to read Death: The High Cost of Living.

I can send the issues to anyone upon request.

We can do anything if we do it together.
    Well, that was fun.

I'm probably going to be absorbing it for a while.

Death really is the best character.

Saving this as a reaction image.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
I'm kinda freaking out right now so I'm trying to calm down by starting to read the seventh volume.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
I have to say that I really feel Delirium right now.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
Dream's use of "What could possibly go wrong?" was just perfect.

This is rather amusing considering what Lucifer did.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
I see Dream knows how to use Jedi Mind Tricks.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
Is Bast the same character as the cat in "A Dream of a Thousand Cats", or?
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
I like how Dream's only consistent height is "taller than everybody else".
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
I notice that Gaiman is in the habit of doing anti-climatic endings.

I'm not entirely sure how to feel about that.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.

I like how Dream's only consistent height is "taller than everybody else".

Actually, this is wrong. It's more that the Endless have consistent height scales but that the specific heights aren't set in stone. I quite like that.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
I've finished the seventh volume now.

Again, I think I'm gonna have to think on this for a while.
  • ...And even when your hope is gone

    (2015 self)

I notice that Gaiman is in the habit of doing anti-climatic endings.

I'm not entirely sure how to feel about that.

    It's really lame.
  • My dreams exceed my real life
If you think Gaiman is bad, read China Mieville
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
I don't think it's "bad" necessarily. I just find it interesting.

I will have to read some China Mieville sometime, too.
  • My dreams exceed my real life
    Yes
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
I am reading the eighth volume now.

I have come to really like Nuala.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
    Hob's back!
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
Holy shit, I made it up to the Prez story.

Michael Allred is one of those artists I've always admired, too.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
Nixon's speech to Prez is more dead on than ever after Obama's reign.
  • My dreams exceed my real life
The new Prez series is something I've been wanting to read

  • We can do anything if we do it together.
I should too at some point.

For now, though, I have to note how endearing I find Wildcat although I realize how little sense his character makes.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
    I loved that story.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
The volume was pretty good, but the Prez story honestly eclipsed the rest for me.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
Since we're not doing Anime Night tonight, I'll get to the ninth volume instead.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
I have finally finished the volume.

I'm really not sure what to make of any of that.

I did really like the artstyle of that volume, though.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
I suppose I should read the tenth volume before questioning further.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
The ending kinda strikes me as being like Cowboy Bebop's, honestly.
  • fight. dream. horse. love.

The ending kinda strikes me as being like Cowboy Bebop's, honestly.

you know, I never thought of that, but it makes a lot of sense
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
Now to read the tenth, and last proper, volume.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
Cain and Abel's friendship is oddly endearing, somehow.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
    so now Dream is Kaworu
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
Clark Kent finally got to make an appearance, I see.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
That final Hob story was beautiful.

We can do anything if we do it together.
I have completed the tenth volume.

I have to say that #73 was a great enough "final issue" to me and that the last two issues are kinda superfluous, but I can understand why Gaiman wanted to end the series at an even 75.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
I have now read Death: The Time of Your Life.

It was a pretty good read, although it feels like a bit of a desperate attempt on Gaiman's part to keep the universe alive for just a little longer.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
I suppose if I'm reading in chronological order I should get to Sandman Midnight Theatre next, but I think I'll leave that for when I get around to Sandman Mystery Theatre.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
I've been feeling a bit flustered the past few days, but reading Endless Nights should help fix that.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
The Death story makes me wonder why Gaiman suddenly stopped doing Sandman just when it seemed like he was getting really good at telling these types of stories.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
Not gonna lie, I figured out more-or-less immediately that Gaiman was doing a Green Lantern riff in the Dream story.
