im not saying he's like awful or anything he just isn't quite holding his end down there relatively speaking IMO? it's not the end of the world, and it's a thing that he'll prolly improve on with as he gains more experience

Some of my friends are in this group and I'm interested to know what you guys think since there are several people here who are probably more versed in this kind of music than I am
The vocalist seriously needs training because he's wildly off-key at points. That he's mixed weirdly cleanly and way upfront in the mix does not help at all. The music itself is not bad—the HEALTH-esque guitar effects are neat—but man, does his lack of pitch control make things sound way more amateurish than they actually are.
If he got his voice under control and they were more adventurous with their production, they could be good fun.
(The part I am referring to as resembling HEALTH is that strange metallic effect at the beginning which occurs throughout the first section—it sounds like granular synthesis and some kind of pitch effect—which I personally would have used throughout the song but that's just me; that said, there are some tom-heavy sections later in where there's a lot of low-end distortion going on that also remind me of something like "Death+". Some of the clean vocals remind me more of Xio from Airs, however.)

But at the same time, nothing is the same from moment to moment, especially not the self. "You" are never the same person twice, cells are replaced by other cells, Ship of Theseus, all that.
Maybe the bonds are too tight to achieve liberation right now, but there will be more chances in the future, which includes your next life.
