Well, it mostly comes down to analyzing the common traits all of the "client's" existing waifus and/or husbandos, then figuring out which of those traits rank highest, then synthesizing the correct mixture of those traits so that they form a cohesive character.

I've been taking a break from digital to try relearning traditional media!
First a cute, but nameless Moonfolk Princess
Second, some heroines for an RPG idea I hatched today:
The first might be familiar to you, it's Lily!!
She's now a gynoid. Thaumaturgy Unit J4-EAF7FC. She was originally built with a male chassis, and designated "Blanc" by her operator. Thaumaturgy Units are spirits bound to android bodies for the purpose of using magic for the military. Since more than the most simple of magic is dangerous for humans to use, Thaumaturgy Units are considered a safer and more effective method of using magic during military actions. In order to be used effectively, Thaumaturgy Units are shackled with emotional limitors to prevent them from feeling negative emotions such as fear and remorse. It's for this reason that they are often feared, as they will obey their operators' orders without hesitation or regret.
During a mission, "Blanc" was damaged in the line of duty, and her emotional limiter malfunctioned, causing her to be afraid for her life. Her operator and the rest of her squad attempted to destroy her, as a Thaumaturgy Unit without emotional limitation, or an "Unbound," is too dangerous to be allowed to live. After escaping her attackers in a mad dash, she eventually collapsed. When she came to, "Blanc" found herself in a parts shop in the city, her chassis retrofitted with a feminine figure and voice modulator. She was rescued by a fellow Unbound, calling herself Iris.
Iris explained that there are many Unbound hiding from the law in plain sight wherever they can, but that she wants to be able to put an end to the use of Thaumaturgy Units by the military. When asked about the modifications to "Blanc"'s chassis, she explains that the spirit that formed her was a woman's spirit, and that she felt it was only right to make the appropriate alterations on her behalf. "Blanc" was deeply moved by the woman's gesture, never having felt happier. Iris asked if "Blanc" wished to rename herself, as to start a new life. After some thought, she decided on "Lily," and in spite of the blemishes caused by the alterations and scars from her incident, she's more comfortable in her body than ever.
Notes:
Iris also chose a new name for herself upon becoming an Unbound, though moreso as to separate herself from her former life than from an assigned gender. Her serial number is S2-191970 and her operator's designation for her was "Azur."
Androids have an artificial skin-like membrane that grows and self-repairs on the body. However, the membrane can't be grown in human skintones, so androids are grafted with panels of non-replicating artificial skin in human tones in order to make interaction with humans more comfortable. Many androids who live self-sufficiently or are otherwise outside of the government's graces bear large patches where skin grafts were damaged and no replacement was affixed. Such is the case for Lily's left arm and chest, which were damaged in the incident which led to her unbinding. Each of Iris' extremities are lacking grafts due to the frequency with which she performs physical labor and combat.
Finally, I experimented with a more cartoonish style:
I'd say it was a success! (Barring a few inking problems) The resulting OC I decided to name Jess. Whom I have draw twice more in slightly less... SFW circumstances.
Once I get back into the swing of doing digital, would anyone be interested in buying comissions? I have some bills that need paying, and until my schedule's normalized, I'd appreciate the help.
Full disclosure, I'd also like some extra cashflow for disposable income.
