Actual eye contact hurts me but I've found I can fake it convincingly enough by just kinda looking in the direction of their face without focusing on anything in particular
That Terrible Guy who I work with is an ardent defender of the idea that rape isn't as bad as murder, what a hero, it's a good thing we have him around to fight that battle.
It's like being asked rather you'd lose a hand or a foot. I'd rather go with the foot because you can get prosthetics for that sort of thing, but all told it's horrible that anyone loses either.
