    mononoke is definitely my fave ghibli though there are a lot of real good ghiblis and that was a hard choce between mononoke and some of the less appreciated ones (porco rosso fucking owns)

    I liked Spirited Away because it was about a scaredy cat kid, and I was also a scaredy cat kid.

    The scene where her parents are trespassing in an area they probably shouldn't be, and she's trying to drag them back is very much me as a kid.

    For reference, End of Evangelion was the tenth I was considering including instead.

    I decided it was too out of place among the other nine, and also something that doesn't quite count since it doesn't stand very well independently of the series.
