I had the most bizarre dream and in the dream I had a nightmare that was said to be recurring and now I can't remember if it's actually a familiar nightmare or I just dreamed it was familiar.
In the dream, I was a young girl (13 or 14) in pink and green pajamas. I was walking through this old mall and it looked very familiar. I recognized what stores should be where, but they were all boarded up and there was nowhere to go. Then suddenly, I began to rise straight into the air, almost to the ceiling. I started crying, because I knew the only way down was to let myself fall completely down and slam into the floor, at which point I would wake up. I had a small amount of control over the rate at which I fell, but I knew I was going to hit the floor painfully no matter what.
So I let it happen and woke up from the nightmare-within-a-dream crying, and tried to explain what just happened to my father but he didn't get it. Possibly because I kept going on about Frosted Lucky Charms and My Little Pony. Then I woke up for real. It was quite weird.
