Fallout Equestria's ending is gonna leave a mark. Will have to come back to this thread when I'm not on my mobile, since I have more to say but I don't want to just phone it in.

If something was good and ended well, typically I am happy and reflect on the good times.
When something ends poorly, I think "what a waste". The ending goes very far to determine my view of it.
Gurren Lagann had an ending that I felt was a waste.
Futakoi Alternative had an ending I loved... actually I loved that entire series.
YOU THERE. QUIT ALL THIS
SCURRYING AROUND AND GO WATCH
FUTAKOI ALTERNATIVE IF YOU HAVE
NOT.
Seriously though. It's a coming of age story where the prospect of a threesome involving twin girls is ever present and the protagonist and a twin fly a bi-plane from Japan to Germany on a rescue mission that involves killing genetically engineered, evil, Nazi squid with a baseball bat.
Interesting. I loved the first season (I was a big fan back when they paired it with Heroes) but I fell off of the wagon when NBC moved their schedule around in 2008.
I'll have to watch it in full once we get Netflix.
Or forget about it on the next day, or, rather, only realise that something ended half a year after it did. Which is preferable. Nothing good comes from attachment.
I'm kind of like Justice, I guess. If the ending is satisfying (doesn't have to be happy, but intelligently or entertainingly written and ties up the loose ends) then I'll have fond memories of whatever it was, and probably enjoy rewatching/rereading it in future.
If the ending is poor then I feel kind of let down. It can even sour the entire work for me, if it's particularly dreadful.
Well, tastes differ. For me, spoilers tend to give better experience, because without them I would miss half of the foreshadowing, fridge brilliance, dramatic irony, clues and interesting moments. That's in addition to the role spoilers play for me in choosing the work of fiction in the first place. If not getting surprised is a price to pay for not getting upset, I am quite fine with not getting surprised.
I suppose it's a gamble, but if a work is good and ends well, then not knowing the ending means I can enjoy it twice in two different ways, once where I can enjoy being surprised by all the twists and the suspense and everything, and a second time to catch the foreshadowing and irony I missed.
I hate spoilers, but on the other hand, knowing the ending beforehand usually makes things more...I don't know. Sometimes ironic, sometimes heartbreaking, and sometimes wonderful.
Which means I usually consume some media, and then sometime later consume it again.
Endings tend to 8e 8ittersweet for me. On the one hand I have the satisfaction of knowing what happened and having enjoyed the journey, 8ut on the other hand it's sad that there's no more to look forward to.
Heh, I'm not saying that ending necessarily has to be happy for me to enjoy the work, although that's how it tends to be. But yes, sometimes happy ending might be dissatisfying, and spoilers can help to avoid that as well.
Like...USE DEFEND INSTEAD OF ATTACK dumb, Help, I have fallen and can't get up ALL AI SHOULD HAVE LIFE ALERT dumb, freeze-up-unsure-what-to-do dumb or USEFIREONTHEFIREELEMENTAL dumb?
I like a good ending that gives me a sense of fullfillment for sticking around and enjoying these people's stories, even if the ending is spiritual rather than...conclusive, to put it in a way (Like Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?)
They're really good at hitting with elemental weaknesses and the like.
It was stuff such as "Player is mortally injured! (50/500) HP! Instead of using full heal spell, use medicine (heals 50 HP)!"
And also, "Boss has reflection aura so all of your attacks hit you? Attack blindly while he's doing it!" Admittedly, they only really did that on the final boss (oddly enough, they were smart enough to not attack when OTHER enemies used reflection auras), but still.

Though, it only briefly shares with me how you feel about it.
Me personally? I don't know how to feel about endings,
A show I'm sure only a handful of people on this site watch, and by a handful I mean Nun.
But anyways, I stuck with it and now it's over, which is good.
And yet, It's still an ending and I have no idea how to feel.

There are times when that isn't possible and to be honest, I'd rather be surprised about an ending than be let down.

This may be because I enjoy stories as much for the creator's skill in crafting them as for the story itself.
