Bisexual here (mostly straight - I think I'd be a 1 - maybe edging near a 2 - on that Kinsey scale - 0 is 100% straight, 6 is 100% gay, 3 is right down the middle)

I think that a lot of people at my college are finding out that I'm gay. Through the grapevine, or something.

People will make references to it when I had no clue that they knew, or I'll mention my gayness in some way and they're 100% unfazed, like they knew all along.

Oh, I mentioned this once before but I can't remember where, so I'll repeat it here:

I was filling out job applications with my career counselor the other day and I told her I don't want to fill in the optional "gender" box on them. It felt weird, because I could tell her that, but I can't tell her why.

Well "Physical Legal Gender" and "True Gender" are different things. It's mostly so employers know which bathroom they can find you at. Just so nobody feels uncomfortable if they don't understand the implications of "why is there a girl in the guy's bathroom" or "why is there a guy in the girl's bathroom" etc.

Since many people have problems using the bathroom when one of opposite gender is around.

There's quite a lot about the way people are prideful or insecure about such things as their sex or race or cultural heritage that bothers me. It's understandable for people to get emotional in areas where there's a lot of inequality, but I'd rather people assign more importance to the decisions they make than the conditions of their birth.

There's more I might be inclined to say, but in my experience people tend to get offended by some of what I have to say about equality, and it's very tiresome trying to convince someone that you mean no offense even if you don't take their view. Besides that, I kinda get the sense that some people don't think you really understand discrimination if you're an able-bodied, middle-class, white, American male. Maybe I don't, but I don't think it completely discredits what I have to say.

Well, people have different standards for what makes someone an asshole. Not so long ago I offended a college acquaintance for not acting as though the level of discrimination against women in gamer nerd culture was as horrible as she thought.

Maybe it's my lack of a "real" social life showing, but I don't think of my bisexuality as anything special. It's just how I am. And the same goes for being biracial and being male.

Bisexuality for me is just a default.

There's a certain freedom behind not having sex be a barrier towards who you are attracted to.
