The reason for this is usually that the person has rationalized that positive emotions are fleeting while negative emotions are constant, and therefore, life is hell. The philosophy for which is always based upon the opinions and personal opinions of the person and basically has no logical basis.

This being the internet, there is no quality control at all, especially because the community is pretty much an echo chamber outside of a few prickly fellows who have more of a tendency to lash out due to petty interpersonal grudges than philosophical incompetence so the whole thing is overrun by loudmouth pseudo-hermits, wangsty teenagers and whatever the hell No Bad Memes guy is.

It's a lot like if HH tried to build a philosophical position as a group, while never actually criticizing anything else anyone was saying or rejecting anything. Antinatalism is a bit more coherent than that, because the people in it are coming from the same depressotron headspace for the most part, but it's still pretty inane and feeble.

This right here is the rut that so many fringe groups and communities like these get into. While they're always at the ready to lash out at any outsider's perceived stupidity, the tolerance they have for it from their own is indescribable. I guess the reason they won't challenge each other even with friendly debate is because they've already repulsed everyone else, and they don't want to risk that with the few people who are like-minded. They're basically intellectual inbreds.

Until (any) God or deity is scientifically confirmed, or a machine is invented to keep a brain alive, I will always have an existential crisis concerning death, forever. It's just not as extreme anymore since I just go "lol I won't even know I'm dead" about it and stuff.

I don't know, it just matters how scared I am of dying, or how close I get to dying that day.

I'm inclined to believe that there is a life after death in some capacity, but deity is a bit more doubtful to me.

That said, death is still unbelievably scary as a concept. But there's something reassuring in the fact that it's universal; being alone among the dead is far more depressing a notion than simply dying.
