tbh I am suddenly really intrigued by the idea of concept album with branching paths though
not a concept album, but AKB0048's singles tended to come out in multiple versions (with different songs), which i think depended on what event you got them at, but i'm not sure.

The Monty Python album Matching Tie and Handkerchief had a gimmick where the second side of the LP had two concentric grooves, both with completely different recordings, rather than a single groove. So when you listened to side 2 on your record player, it was more or less random which version you would hear. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Monty_Python_Matching_Tie_and_Handkerchief
You could totally repurpose that gimmick to make branching paths on a concept album. It would probably blow some people's minds.
