i meant "shipping" as in "other people chattering about the pairing, as opposed to the two people in question".

i could have used "gossip" i guess, but the portmanteau couple name thing is rather specifically a fandom thing

I mean, I guess for a sufficiently broad definition of fandom you could say bennifer and brangelina are "fandom things" but I feel like it's a little different
