Getting to snuggle under a big thick blanket with my sweetie

O Winter! bar thine adamantine doors: The north is thine; there hast thou built thy dark Deep-founded habitation. Shake not thy roofs Nor bend thy pillars with thine iron car.
He hears me not, but o’er the yawning deep Rides heavy; his storms are unchain’d, sheathed In ribbed steel; I dare not lift mine eyes; For he hath rear’d his scepter o’er the world.
Lo! now the direful monster, whose skin clings To his strong bones, strides o’er the groaning rocks: He withers all in silence, and in his hand Unclothes the earth, and freezes up frail life.
He takes his seat upon the cliffs, the mariner Cries in vain. Poor little wretch! that deal’st With storms; till heaven smiles, and the monster Is driven yelling to his caves beneath Mount Hecla.

The two best scenarios involving snow:
1. It snows so massively that school/work is cancelled and you just get to stay home and drink hot coffee
2. It's snowed enough to look pretty but has stopped long enough to give adequate time to clear roads and sidewalks
Snow is pretty and fun to play in. Everything else about winter is cold and darkness, two of my least favorite things.
Why do you think people make all these bright holidays for this time of year? They're depressed by how fucking dark and cold it is and want to not be depressed.
I get to wear all the sweaters and scarves and cowls and things I've knitted.
And so much wonderful peppermint stuff (peppermint bark is one of my favorite treats ever). Peppermint should be more of a year-round thing. (Well, I mean you can find mint tea and mint candy year round but around Christmas everything is available in peppermint.)
Cuddling a kitty under a warm (yes, hand-made) blanket is nice too.

In ribbed steel; I dare not lift mine eyes;

To his strong bones, strides o’er the groaning rocks:

Cries in vain. Poor little wretch! that deal’st
With storms; till heaven smiles, and the monster
Is driven yelling to his caves beneath Mount Hecla.

when you're a kid, snow is the absolute best, but adults mostly seem to perceive it as a nuisance

it can also be nice to just cuddle up inside and read a book or something when it gets snowy out

Yes!
I love winter, but to be fair, this is kind of true. The really bad parts are such that they really do make the change of pace more satisfying.
