nah, he was complaining about mettaton, which was actually kinda difficult and i think i actually beat it without knowing the condition (get ratings up to 10000)
I'm mainly perplexed at the amount of people who are agreeing that the mechanics are terrible.

I don't understand.
i guess if you're really bad at bullet-hell-type stuff maybe?
it's a lot more forgiving than danmaku games, though
that's the thing, i suck at the dodging, my reflexes are terrible, but i could still complete the game with little difficulty because at any time you can just start again from pretty much right where you left off
honestly, the only boss that seems like it requires significant daniel maku skill rather than buying all the bisicles even in a pacifist-ready run (versus a neutral one with health above friggen 20) is photoshop flowey, which i'm kind of surprised to learn is losable, actually, since it seemed so unfair that i assumed toby had to be trolling
Since we're talking about difficulty, it's all gonna be subjective. that undertale might be difficult for some is fair enough, that they go on to rate the game badly because of that is a problem with how games are viewed.
You really do not have to have very much hand-eye coordination to beat Undertale's pacifist route. You can just stock up on healing items, it's what I did.
I saw the heart-dodging-things fights, that's a thing-dodging game, and I lack the fine motor skills for those (that's why I gave up on Link to the Past, too many enemies that had range).
It's also why I gave up on Aquaria and those water and flying levels in Rayman Origins.
If there is (a) a top-down perspective, (b), no jump button or real gravity keeping you at the bottom of the screen, and (c), small, quickly moving things that you must dodge, then it's a dodging-things game.

Assassin poems, Poems that shoot
guns. Poems that wrestle cops into alleys
and take their weapons leaving them dead
i mean, he killed me a few times, but after i started hitting the interludes it got much easier
It doesn't seem like the type of game that benefits from using one.

@Tachyon
When you mentioned what the Flowey battle homaged, you forgot about this.
but yeah now you pointed it out, the visual similarity is pretty clear
from browsing the wiki i know there are a bunch of allusions in the game, but Earthbound seems like the most obvious point of comparison, y'know?
It is still pretty clear that the appearance of Photoshop Flowey, if not his specific actions, was based off of Marx, though.
