So assuming what internet feminists are saying is true, if mentioning rape causes flashbacks for victims, and "trigger warning" precedes mention of rape, how the hell does saying "trigger warning" not act as a trigger itself?

I think I would agree with you here in that talking about "trigger warnings" would be just as bad.

And now we have people talking about talking about rape, so we've just added MORE viability to the subject. Take that rape victims/survivors.

And this is why we have the expression "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions."

I've seen them for depression (there's one in most descriptions of Yume Nikki's plot) but not rape.

I never mention my trigger warnings out loud.

Although, the mention of rape doesn't trigger flashbacks, but certain scenarios and behaviors.

I've seen lots of blog posts prefaced by trigger warnings. It's pretty common.

I guess they figure it's better than nothing.

You know this thing about "harm your rapist to deter it" going on...it really doesn't work.

He's already lost into the Land of No Return. He's commited a crime, he knows it, but doesn't care.

Committing another like beating you half to death because his penis was harmed doesn't really matter to him, considering his penis was harmed.

There is a very likely chance he will kill you if he was already planning on raping you.

Unless he is sentimental and depraved.

Don't feel horrible I just didn't make the "balls-deep" connection with what I was talking about, since I was trying to use a more descriptive word relating to "farther than one should be"
