With respect to feats that use a weapon now listed as exotic, where possible the closest Japanese weapon can be used. For example, feats that specify scimitar use may instead be used with wakizashi, which has the same damage and threat range, but is a light weapon. Furthermore weapon prices of Japanese weapons will be changed to match western counterparts. Prices that have been changed are listed in parentheses next to the weapon.
See, the point of getting the Scimitar is the fact that it's one-handed instead of light. The Scimitar has the unique property of, with the right feat, being able to use Dex rather than Str. It's also a one-handed weapon, meaning that, unlike light weapons, it gets a Str bonus that gets larger if you use it with two hands. Sorry to be harping on this, but this is a mechanics-heavy RP, so I'm making sure I'm good on the mechanics.
The temple sword would probably be a better equivalent, is what I'm saying
Tengu already have proficiency with all swords, no matter how weird or exotic they are. It means I'll have to forget switching that out with claws, but...
it'll be fine. I'll just use a scimitar. Either that or I'll use the other racial feat, the one that gives proficiency in exotic weapons

All light weapons can use dex bonus to attack rolls with weapon finesse, and if you want to use something like Dervish Dance to give a dex bonus to damage, it's a fine substitute.
I was not, however, aware that one-handed weapons, when wielded with two hands, give an additional str bonus.
Dervish Dance was the feat I was thinking of, actually.
And yes, one-handed weapons get a 1.5x multiplier on their strength bonus if it's wielded with two hands. It's basically the main reason that the Scimitar is preferred over the Rapier; you only got so many spells per day, and you're going to be in trouble if you're not using two-handed strikes after you run dry.
Like I said before, temple sword's a better substitute, having only slightly worse stats.
And again, I can just use Swordtrained or Exotic Weapon training and bypass all of this. But I was kind of set on getting Claw Attack, for admittedly wacky reasons.

This just in: First Quarter at a University is tougher than anticipated, very reading heavy, so I'm gonna have to pull out until time management allows.
Well I spelled it orc in most places in the document but they emphasize the final consonant (orcish is very different than Ashihara's version of Common) so honestly I think either'd work.
