i should maybe add that if i'm watching a superhero flick my disbelief is already raised some distance off the ground, so i'll let a fair bit slide that i might not if this were, say, a conspiracy thriller, or a biopic.

Either that, or the moral decision in the bizarre context of a superhero narrative becomes much less acceptable in a more down-to-earth crime story.

i liked it a lot in the cinema, not quite so much on home DVD
And it was a good film.

Stuff like CinemaScope tried to purposely look better in the theatre than on television as far back as the 1950s.
