(Other than "because Anonus Utilis keeps forgetting to cancel it")
The television in the living room was left on KMGH and this came on. It's a holdover from a less sophisticated era in television. The show's logos were adopted in fucking 1998 and they look like it. The set now resembles the intro to 101 Dalmatians: The Series if it somehow assumed physical form and got even more garish. All I can think of is that it's cheap filler that costs the network next to nothing to keep on the air.

Assassin poems, Poems that shoot
guns. Poems that wrestle cops into alleys
and take their weapons leaving them dead
it still exists, but i haven't watched it in years
but then they gradually started featuring too many cringeworthy moments.
Also I find it strange to think that television had a "less sophisticated" time. Is that possible?
i think it's probably fair to say production quality has gone up?
i also think it depends what you mean by more sophisticated. If by that you mean opera or science documentaries, i don't think you can claim modern reality TV is more sophisticated than that. But a lot of old television looks somewhat amateurish by comparison with today's programming, no?
Of course I don't even watch TV these days so what do I know
my dad liked Looney Tunes and The Simpsons, and my mum liked Cardcaptor Sakura and My Parents Are Aliens! (i don't know if that one ever got a US broadcast).
i'm not sure i agree. In writing terms i feel there's been a shift towards faster pacing which is not necessarily an improvement.
