    i always assumed that the representation of the labyrinth as unicursal was a simplification because the whole story with the ball of thread doesn't make sense otherwise.

    as i understand it the labyrinth had like shifting walls or something to make it more difficult to escape

    that's why the king had Daedalus the master craftsman built it as opposed to some random bricklayer
