I understand why they do it, it's just kind of funny to me that often when I see it I am legitimately confused at what accent they're doing at first.

It was pretty good. I wouldn't have known if someone hadn't told me.
I once saw a movie where Liam Neeson played a Kentucky hillbilly, and it was pretty funny seeing his native Irish accent struggle for dominance against the Kentucky accent he was trying to do.
