  I don't think anything in particular is fading, but I guess it'd be hard to tell what is or isn't, especially once forgotten.

  Some of it, i guess?  i mostly remember the embarrassing or uncomfortable bits.
  
  And sometimes i'll remember my emotional state at a point in time, but trying to reproduce that state (e.g. by watching a cartoon i enjoyed at the time) doesn't work.
  
  . . . i wish my memory was stronger sometimes.

  I've always tended to be fairly ambivalent towards aging. I wasn't ever one of the little kids who wanted to grow up right away, nor am I someone who really wants to reclaim my childhood. I just focus on what I enjoy right now. Some of that overlaps with what I enjoyed as a child, some of it does not. I don't remember many specifics of being a kid, but that doesn't really bother me much.

  i never felt any urgency about growing up when i was little, but i always felt slightly older than my peers somehow
  
  now i'm the reverse, i'm in my mid 20s and i feel younger than people in their late teens

  Same. I'm never going to remember what it was like to be younger. But if I remember that, I can be understanding.
