Game Theory: What if Bloodborne isn't as innocent as it seems

Bloodborne is every kid's favorite game, right? They couldn't put anything dark and disturbing into the kid-friendly atmosphere of Bloodborne, right?

WRONG

Throughout the game, we get constant references to "dreams" with one character even telling you to "Awaken from the dream". Furthermore, various areas are described as "nightmares". The opening even has a kindly doctor tell you that you might feel like you're having a bad dream after your blood transplant.

The meaning is clear: You are a young cancer patient in a coma, and you dream up the events of Bloodborne as you slowly expire. Thought this was a game for kids? Think again.

  • "Were the enemies in this game designed by some kindergarten kid for halloween, I'm suprised they don't have skeletons too... could the enemies of this game be anymore stock.... they should've just called this game Boo: Haunted House', which is probably what they had in mind" ~ AVGN 2006.
