  Creations all have a purpose, so I suppose the greater philosophical question would be to ask whether or not we ourselves are creations... because in truth, there doesn't seem to be any meaning to us, and even the smartest people have yet to deny this.

  I don't believe there's a "smart enough to not get it," partly because it places intelligence as a yardstick of what you can and can't understand. We're discounting the importance of shared experience and empathy.
