Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
^I'm strangely amused by Brock saying "Pokermon."
The other day I was thinking about sets of starters. I'm sure we've all wanted to have full sets of the starters of a region like Ash has gotten 3 times now, I think. Personally, if I wanted all the starters from a particular region and couldn't mix and match, I'd pick the Johto starters. The Totodile family is my favorite starter ever, Typhlosion looks pretty cool, and I've started to get a little curious about Meganium.
If I could mix and match, the only change I would make is maybe to pick the Snivy or Bulbasaur family over Meganium. Probably Snivy.

^That made me chuckle a little, but I'm confused. Is that supposed to be a reference to anything?
Also, on the newest exciting episode of "Gator's Nicknaming Adventures," I just realized what name I think fits my Totodile best:
Forgive the rival monster-battling game; it was actually what reminded me of the name.
Funny thing is, I hadn't even considered the name before, even in a "didn't like it at first but changed my mind" kind of way. I also don't feel any uncertainties about the name like I did with Finn, Makara, and Sobek. This is awesome!

^^ Of course not. I'm going to name her "The". :P
Though I'm probably going to wait a little while before I start another HeartGold game. To make my explanation more accurate and less long-winded, I'll be busy at school for the next couple of weeks, and I'll need more time for the game to regain its novelty as well.
Now is this here a Pokemons thread? Why I do believe it is!
I was recently watching Phil Dragash(?)'s retrospective on the series. And while it started out good, it slowly got a little too nostalgic for my tastes.

^By "nostalgic," this means saying that it was only good up to (insert earlier generation here, usually I or II), right? That does get annoying, and this is coming from someone whose tastes in Pokémon disproportionately favor the first two generations.
I wanna see a new Stadium-esque game for the Wii U. Those games were fun whenever the AI was being a total luck haxing bastard. Some of the KO animations were funny in the N64 games like Kadabra or Slowbro ("Am I supposed to faint now?" "Yes!" "Ok!").

^Well, after tomorrow, I'll have very little homework. So if Lazuli were to post again sometime after that, it wouldn't be a nasty surprise. That's good.
^^I don't think I've ever actually owned any of those games. They look pretty fun, though.
Pokemon Black and White 2 now have an official Japanese release date. Keldeo will be distributed on the same day, and it is apparently suggested that it is used in your playthrough
Have they EVER suggested that somebody use a legendary in a playthrough? Is this indicating special content that will require using Keldeo in the playthrough and make things more clear?

Something tells me we might be learning a little something more about Keldeo than Black and White 1 had to offer. All Keldeo had there was the event where he learned Sacred Sword, right?
And Anyone ever heard of a Nuzlocke Run? It's actually quite fun, and you have to bond with the pokemon you get so it's emotional at some points and sometimes its very happy! For those who don't know, it's a run of any pokemon game (though most have been using heartgold/soulsilver) with the following rules:
1. If a pokemon faints in battle, you must release it ASAP (it's 'dead', not just fainted). 2. If all your pokemon faint, game over. You have to start from scratch. 3. You may only attempt to capture the first pokemon you encounter in each new area, route, cave, city, etc. If you don't catch it, tough shit, you miss out for that area. 4. You must give every pokemon you capture a nickname.
There are some additional, optional rules to make it even harder (no items, etc).
Anyone been thinking about doing one of these runs, or is doing one?
So far I've only been nuzlocking Soul Silver and Black, so no patterns have emerged yet (although I'm fond of my Stoutland on Black - he saved my ass in the run)

I don't think I'd really be into Nuzlocking that much.
However, I do have a butt-saving story that warmed me up to Jolteon and Krookodile even more than I already was. (Though part of it was also Ghetsis' Hydreigon's terrible luck with accuracy.)
Now i'm redoing my Pokemon black because of Ghetsis i loved fighting him now im doing it all over again to do that because the music is so bloody hell good ( ゚ヮ゚) ..........perhaps a nuzlocke......anyone think i should do it?...........
It takes place 2 years after Black and White. Unova is partially frozen over. There are new locations, new leaders, and so on. The dex is different, containing a mix of Unova Pokemon and Pokemon from the past 4 generations (including Metagross)

Huh, cool.
I wonder who the starters are going to be. If they're the same, I'm probably going to get Snivy again, since I got through White with all 3 and my current (and most likely permanent) file has Tepig. If not, well, we'll see.

So, I took a look at the CoroCoro stuff on Bulbanews again. Without spoiling any of the specifics, it appears we have about 1/4 of the pre-Gen. V Pokémon in Black and White 2 confirmed. I'm liking most of what there is so far, so I'm looking forward to the rest of them.

A decent number of Pokémon are surprisingly smart, though. With good enough luck, you could meet one of them and work something out from there.
My main concern with being turned into a Pokémon would be that it apparently makes you ridiculously vulnerable to mind control. Remember how a lot of the villain teams' plans involved mad scientist methods of driving Pokémon nuts?
I mean, I guess you could argue that it's not just the villains and Pokémon training in general is accomplished through some degree of mind control, but still.
Okay, guys. I'm going to start up my Red playthrough again. I have a Body Slam TM, and I don't know who to teach it to. My Gyarados or my Nidoking? Suggestions are welcome.

Reposting because it doesn't look like we'll be getting our posts from the 20th and the 21st back.
So, they're making 2 new Pokémon apps for the 3DS. One is an expansion of the 3D Pokédex that includes everything in the National Dex and Kyurem's new forms. The other is an AR Pokémon-catching game where you can transfer what you find to your Black/White 2 game.
The 3D National Dex costs a bit more than I'd like (¥1500, which should be about $15-20 in the US), but apart from that, I'm pretty excited.

And the most disappointing part is that I was so close to making an epic Magikarp comeback against Misty's Starmie. D:
Stupid Paralysis not working when I needed it.
Sweeping through Claude's (My Rival's name) team with Gyarados just doesn't have the same feeling as beating a Gym Leader with Magikarp. :(

Ha ha ha. No.
Doesn't sound like my idea of fun honestly.
And I'm currently doing two Nuzlocke runs. They are exhilarating
So, what Pokemon do you end up using most of the time on your playthroughs?
..........perhaps a nuzlocke......anyone think i should do it?...........
