People flipping out about the IGN review (which gave the game an overwhelmingly positive score, like an 8.5 or something) is literally the dumbest thing I have ever seen from this fandom.
It was a problem in the original game and they should've fixed it.
They gave it 7.8 (which in games journalism, definitely isn't "overwhelmingly positive")
a 7.8/10 is still pretty good though. (incidentally this is why if you're going to rate things on a numeric scale it should always be out of 5, in what world is 7.8/10 not good)
Well, yeah, but Surf and Dive are both decent moves for any water pokemon to learn (unlike certain other HMs -- I'm looking at you, Cut), but I understand the point.
The last Wally battle in Alpha Sapphire was probably one of my favorite parts of the game. I thought the music and battle scene were all pretty great (granted, Wally being one of my favorite rivals probably had something to do with that). Honestly, I was kind of impressed by the late game stuff in Alpha Sapphire in general and ended up liking Delta Episode more than I thought I would. I am not sure if Delta Episode really qualifies as amazing storytelling or whatever, but I thought it was entertaining at least.
...the water and Surf/Dive mechanics are holdovers from the original R/S/E games
that's presumably a reference to the IGN review that criticized the games for the excess water stuff, which they caught a lot of flack over despite the fact that the excessive surf + dive requirements are a legit game design problem
You equip a Mega Stone to your pokemon and it evolves them, giving them 100 extra stat points spread across everything but HP, as well as giving (most) of them a new Ability. Only eight, if memory serves, keep their ability (alternatively, a potential ability).
The reasons for it are varied. Besides the obvious coolness factor, it also allows pokemon who are well-liked but not competitively viable to enter the scene (e.g. Charizard), adds new sub-types for some pokemon (Sceptile, Altaria), and maybe some other stuff?
I think it's a marketing gimmick, but cool nonetheless. Well, the ones that actually look cool, as opposed to the ones that don't (Swampert)
I've only got 5 8adges at the moment and was gonna head to Fortree when 8AM LOOKIT THERE IS STEVEN STONE GONNA TAKE ME TO AN ISLAND AND... then Latias joined me and Steven gave me a mega 8racelet.
like
Latias just joins you in that game, no 8attling or catching or whatever she just wanted to come with me.
Seriously though, Mega Swampert looks like one of those 'too swole' guys that you see at the gym. It's ridiculous. I refuse to take it seriously, and I refuse to take it go-kart racing.

I believe the OG DS and the DS Lite only support WEP, yeah, which is a sad state of affairs.

So, I have Soulsilver, and i never did any of that wi-fi stuff or not in-game-character trading.
And now I'm trying it, and I can't do any of the things it talks about.
What's with that? I mean, is it just me who can't do nintendo wifi?
