John Lasseter mandated that they stop doing the cheapquels in 2006 (he must also have mandated that they stop doing spin-off TV series, with the last one having been The Emperor's New School, but nobody noticed the lack of Wreck-It Ralph: The Series or anything), but evidently Iger's drive to maximize Disney's brandiosity led to Walt Disney Animation Studios getting on the expensivequel train (Pixar had already been corporate's end-run around WDAS's "no sequels" rule)
  • Also as for cheapquels I remember liking Patch's London Adventure and intend on watching it again
  • anyway part of me hopes that Pixar makes a creative comeback so that this brand shit has some of the edge taken off of it
  • even if all Pixar movies arrive with the requisite consumer product tie-ins

oh fickle bird of inspiration, to what far shore have you flown?
  • hm?
