    by 2004 Disney was running on fumes anyway (Home on the Range, attempted takeover by Comcast, spat with Pixar, though there WAS a turnaround at ABC by fall) but still

    they were never called by their names in the movie but their official names are "Si" and "Am"

    also I've learned that they've showed up in later media, but with their upper teeth amended so that they don't look so stereotypical

    also they're voiced by Tress MacNeille now (Mary Kay Bergman voiced one of them at one point, but she's long dead so MacNeille assumed her role)

    in 1955 when lady and the tramp came out, siam had already been officially renamed thailand

    oh i guess the movie takes place in like 1910 though

    yeah I feel kinda sad because I like Tress

    I haven't seen anything more recent with Si and Am, nor do I know why Disney insisted on including them in things like Lady and the Tramp II or more bizarrely House of Mouse (good old Disney advertising sandwiched between things I actually wanted to watch - the cartoons from Mickey Mouse Works), but I'd at least hope their worse aspects got toned down/eliminated
