I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
I've began to take a "when, not if" view of SPE's divestiture. I've had one for a while - the hack hastens the timetable for when we get the Big Surprise that CBS or somebody is buying Sony Pictures.

Who knows, maybe even Lionsgate would jump at it. They're big enough now that they could pull off a deal for it (probably not all-cash, but definitely either stock or some cash-and-stock mixture)...
That and I wonder if they'd keep the Sony name, get some awful, focus-grouped "crunchtastic" name, or just revert back to Columbia Pictures Industries.

and the stock would either give Sony a stake in Lionsgate, or be akin to the manner in which Jif and Crisco were sold by Procter & Gamble to J.M. Smucker (P&G shareholders ended up with a big stake in Smucker's), or Disney sold ABC Radio Networks to Citadel (similar)

I'd lean towards just going back to being Columbia Pictures.
