  Y''know when i was a kid and those cards were popular, i never understood the point of that card.  i was like, why the hell would i want a card that tells me to discard a bunch of cards that i might need later in the game?
  
  i guess i didn't really grasp how the game worked.

  I'm still quite certain that ante was from an unhinged set, seeing that literally no one plays it.

  I think it was part of the first set they printed and they subsequently (wisely) decided to not ever do that again.
