Am I not picky enough?

I remember enjoying Book One of The Legend of Korra not so much for its story or characters (most of whom made absolutely no impact on me), but simply because I got to go back to the world of Avatar. Meanwhile, at the time, people kvetched about how terrible it was and don't seem to think the rest of the series is much good either.

I'm worried that I experience media the wrong way, is what I'm saying.
