Sometimes my mind gets hung up on the issue of "legitimacy" (e.g. Looney Tunes, I fear, do not have the same legitimacy as the Disney Animated Canon)

How do you define "legitimacy"?

Like, we know that Citizen Kane has more legitimacy than Scary Movie or whatever

But what about when two things of equivalent or near-equivalent legitimacy have to duke it out in the cultural and artistic boxing ring?

Legitimacy is your stat in EU4 where if it gets too low, Pretenders start trying to take over the country.

If you're a Republic you instead have Republican Tradition, which is similar.
