You kn ow layoffs, worse products, Raising prices on consumers. the associated individuals who compries a business do no t have unlimited money to do everythign that is expected of them. You can't keep adding costs and still expect it to work anywhere close to well.

Except thats not what happened either, when the United Kingdom and Canada brought in minimum wage laws, Unemployment went down not up. Also Inflation was unaffected and prices went down for stuff as well.

I'm not even sure how that is possible. Let me give a small scale example. Bob has units to spend on labor. if each hired individual only asks one unit a s a part of the contract he can afford to hire ten individuals. If then each individual is required to be paid two units five individuals have to be let go. There is no possib le workign arund that.

Also now that I think of it on the subject of the title of the thread. Have communist countries been lumped in to either the first or third world now? Nobody ever mentions the Second World.

Well It's not really a part of the original Three Worlds Theory neither is the notion of the "Last World" which is another extension of it. Very interesting to examine where we get these terms and what exactly they mean.

I couldn’t even read the rest of the post because you started with a straw man. No one was suggesting abolishing money, entirely, as far as I could see. Just discussing the gaps between job A that makes only a little money and job B that makes a heck of a lot more when both jobs people are working just as hard (note that there were two sides to the discussion, as well).

There is no objective way to determine value however and what holds a certain value to one person may hold a different value to another regardless of what went in to the product or service.

Yes, as I said, I there was a bit of a discussion with two sides.

To be fair to Squid, though, he didn't necessarily suggest that the jobs in this scenario should be equal.

More that he felt the gap between "unskilled laborer" and "CEO" was far too big, though he seemed to agree that it was logical that there would be some sort of gap.

If I'm understanding his post, that is.
