I want to go to Wendy's right now, at 2:52 in the morning, and seeing as how Wendy's is like our favorite fast food place, here's a general Wendy's thread.
Not sure what would count. Little Chef is what sprang to mind first, but that's like a roadside diner. There's Spud-u-Like, don't see those very often though. Dixy Chicken; that specializes in halal food which is presumably why there aren't any around here afaik. Greggs, but that's a bakery chain...
There are some British based chains which have restaurants in other countries (though not the US, to my knowledge). Wimpy is one, Chicken Cottage is another...
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
In contrast, I live in the town where Wendy's started, so they're friggin' everywhere around here
I even got to eat at their very first location a few times before it closed down

I wouldn't mind visiting Wendy's with Imi and/or Miko

There used to be about 3 Wendy's in London. I remember going there. Never really seemed to take off, but those locations were busy, especially with tourists.
I generally eat the chili and baked potatos, since my body dislikes wheat in a violent kinda way thus I can't really eat the burgers.
basically the moral of the story is that stuff at chain restaurants tends to be kinda naff compared to whatever you could get at the same price somewhere local
it just occurred to me that i listed no thai restaurants lol i fucked up give me a minute
actually it just occurred to me that most of the thai places are in the 10-20 range so w/e BUT i feel bad because there are so many great places around here i feel like i should list them
the only local restaurant is Bert's, and you need to be prepared to drop like at least $15-20 per person if you wanna eat there, and the food's not even that good.
i still think fast food is ridiculously expensive for what it gets you. More expensive restaurants usually serve fancier food in much bigger portions. You couldn't make a habit of eating in one of those places, of course, but why would you want to make a habit of eating fast food, either?
i'll stop by McDonalds or whatever if i'm hungry and i'm passing one, but otherwise i'd rather just cook my own food.

because it is still relatively inexpensive, requires no particularly large skill or time investment to make, and is convinient in that there is often a fast food eatery somewhere near wherever you happen to be going while you're out and about.
I think on average, to feed myself at a fast food establishment is maybe $6-8, whereas to make myself a decent meal from storebought ingredients probably runs me closer to $10-15, and I'm not terribly picky about brands.

their pretzel bacon burgers are very good

And there were never any near where i live.
They recently remodeled it, yntkt
Back in the day they used to have these tables with what looked like old newspapers on them. That had some character, I think.
Also yes, Miko and CA and Imi will go to Wendy's. Maybe we'll kidnap Anonus and bring him too
this was taken before the renovation, however
Although that said I found a Wimpys in London somewhere about 5 years ago. No idea if its still there.
So I guess they're still around, but not as many as there were before
it seems like nowadays there isn't much reason to go get fast food
a combo at most places is 6-8 bucks or so so i'd rather go to an actual restaurant for that amount of money

i get that it's convenient, i just don't see it as much of a trade-off when it's still pretty expensive.
i think it's more expensive here than in the US, but even so!
This doesn't really matter, but i notice people here talk about fast food a lot and i feel like an outsider for not being excited about it.
And some of it is just gross. McDonald's fries are like soft toothpicks and they have no flavour whatsoever.
And, it isn't? It's possible i am just lousy at budgeting, but whenever i buy fast food i find myself grimacing at how extortionate it all seems.
