I re-read this a few times and then concluded that it was snowing and skipped to the next paragraph.
Then I read the following:

I thought the period was a comma, and also promptly skipped to the following:

I misread "againstream" as "against mainstream" and "the and" as "and the", and dismissed it as something I didn't get.
Then I looked back at "South" and noticed that it was capitalized, but then realized that the topic given in the title had nothing to do with geopolitics (i.e. South(east)ern United States) or economic development (the "global South"), and started suspecting something was off.
Then I looked more closely, realized that it was actually "the and South", and quickly looked through the rest of the length of text-filled space on the page, and realized that multiple parentheses were not properly closed. I also noticed a load of nonsense at the bottom of the post. Then I decided conclusively that this is a shitpost, with strong suspicion of it being at least partially randomly generated by a Markov chain (or other linguistic nonsense) generator.
Then I decided to write up a post detailing that the only reason I didn't conclude this any earlier was because I kept skimming.
The I realized that there were multiple red flags that should have caught my attention but didn't, until we got to "South".
Then I realized that my language autocorrection and meaning autofill during skimming is quite strong. (This is not a statement on whether this is a good or bad thing.)
Then I decided to write up these few things as well, and be totally meta about it.
