Next thing to do: be able to tell a story related to each of those names.
e.g. Nancy Pelosi - Dem leader in the House, served as Speaker 2007-2011 Scott DesJarlais - Repub House member and doctor, best known for a scandal where he had an affair with a patient and then pressured her to get an abortion, despite being anti-abortion himself Vic Wulsin - unsuccessful two-time Dem candidate against former Repub House member Jean Schmidt (best known for saying insulting things)
Well, FYI, I did use Google and Wikipedia for some of them. And some of them I only remembered by a description, such as "that guy who ran for Vermont's at-large congressional seat and got both Dem and Repub party lines and is still in office".
And a few I just didn't know. Like the later entries for Vermont and Delaware.
The other ones I recognized, some of them from a web searching or Wikipedia. Of course, for the ones that came right to my mind, those states I got done with fastest.
Conventionally that would be Canada but i don't know enough Canadian politicians to make a list, and i think they're slightly less subservient to the US anyway.
In my experience '51st state' refers to a country which is not actually a member of the United States but is perceived to behave like one (i.e. by sucking up to the US all the time).

Specter is, sadly, deceased, and Santorum is a vampire, so I dunno if those count.

But at least I know the progressives are in charge in Alberta!
