I've mentioned this to you before, but I might as well drop it off in here:
The teenagers in Scooby-Doo spend all their free time cruising around the country in The Mystery Machine without having any parental or authority figures around telling them what to do.
In the process, they exemplify the freedom that kids feel they'll have once they're old enough to provide for themselves. This yearning for freedom is a huge part of the childhood experience, and no children's cartoon responds to this yearning as well as Scooby does. As a result of this, there will always be a place for it within the pop cultural landscape.
