Yeah, the "dramatic mouth" thing does have a gag quality to it, but the constant repetition seems deliberate. At worst, the payoff is blatantly hanging a lampshade on it, but it's quite likely that there is more to it than that.
^ Any answer that we give to this question is going to be pulled out of thin air; that still does not discount the possibility that this is a set-up for something down the line. Consider Maplehoof. Even setting that aside, Hussie isn't so lazy as to recycle the same punchline in very quick succession without there being some greater point to it, even if that point is yet another, more elaborate gag.
An odd aside related to the earlier discussion of classes in SBURB, specifically the Prince as a destroyer class: Setting aside the apparent reference to the King's Quest series mentioned on the MSPA Wiki, it jibes really well with both the role of the sovereign prince or Fürst in the hierarchy of the Holy Roman Empire and the ideal of the cunning virtuoso leader in Machiavelli's famous text.
Wait, I just thought of something weird: Supposedly, Gamzee did not die in any of the doomed timelines, but his dream-self is implied to have been killed by Jack Noir. This should mean that his dream-self's ghost would be trotting around... which, insofar, it doesn't seem to be, given that we have seen alternates of pretty much every other (human or troll) character in the dream bubbles at some point.
So it is possible that Gamzee actually did reach God Tier at some point, but somehow never mentioned it.
Kind of want to argue about why the issues with the foam communicator are only coming up now and what he was using during the earlier speakercrab section, but I don't really have the energy for it.

the foam puppet ass communicator is the crab communicator thing from before w/ a foam ass attached to it
the foam ass obviously makes it less useful because it muffles the communications, but i am assuming that dave thinks it is a reasonable tradeoff
see i love this because this literally makes her the vriska of beforan culture. while vriska was a direct reflection of the most fundamental schools of thought present in alternian culture and attempted to rule her session with it, aranea is enforcing the fundamentals of beforan culture: where the “older”, “better” and “more experienced” individuals decide to take everything by the reigns and “take care” of the troubled lower class, with or without their consent (usually without)
and it blatantly exposes how both of these opposite points of view are equally horrifying
During some thinking I did during Murderstuck, I pegged Fef as partially responsible for Eridan snapping. By cancelling her moiraillegiance to an emotionally unstable (and dangerous) individual, Feferi was irresponsible, avoiding her duties just as she avoided her duties as an Empress to be. I was trying to peg all the dead trolls with a fatal flaw, and avoidance of responsibility was what I gave Fef.
But I have a friend who's in a similarly uncomfortable relationship (one that I keep encouraging her to abandon), and I find myself becoming more sympathetic to Fef. I mean, the relationships aren't identical, but there's enough similarity that I can't blame her for leaving, even if it did leave Aqua-Caligula without an emotional anchor.
While I don't think that a character should need a fatal flaw to justify their death in a narrative, I do think that under the circumstances, Feferi's rejection of Eridan was probably not a good idea and ultimately did trigger his slow descent into true hatefulness. She was trying to do the right thing in some respects, but ended up unwittingly letting loose some very ugly emotions.
What is even sadder in hindsight is that as much as Eridan wanted to seem like a ruthless conqueror, many of his actions clearly showed that he valued what friendships and relationships he had far more than his loftier, more vicious ambitions. It was only after the whole sequence of rejections began that he went from someone redeemable and a bit pathetic to someone really loathsome.

Callbacks used to be spaced farther apart and they were more effective that way. It bugs me.
