Damara and Aradia are both rust-blooded trolls who, while possessed of very short lifespans, tend to have incredible telekinetic powers. Aradia's ghost, in particular, was able to toss around huge fragments of stone statues without a second thought.
Well, Damara was the Witch of Time if I am not mistaken, which basically makes her a pretty absurdly powerful player. Ditto Aradia as the God Tier Maid of Time, albeit in a different way.
Also, Damara's post-Scratch version was the Handmaid of Lord English, and her pre-Scratch ghost form is... well, absolutely insane due to Meenah screwing up big time in their session and ruining her life.
Chrome and Safari have both come to gradually recognise 90% of the Homestuck lexicon given my frequent posts without my direct intervention. It is very convenient.
^^ Cronus is the Bard of Hope, and at least one version of him made God Tier. He may be a very dangerous loser, so long as his terribleness is properly channelled.
They're from the same panel of the same comic. The characters in the panel in question are a somewhat hopelessly dorky gay couple. Also, one of them is high as a kite and the other just got his hand chopped off by an insane drug dealer.
It strikes me a little odd that Aranea can control so many Damaras, since Vriska couldn't control even one Aradia.
Also, is Solluxander the canon name for Sollux or did the fans make that up.
Solluxander was a joke by Hussie from his tumblr.
Of course, "Hussie nursing Jack Noir back to health like a baby bird" also was a joke from Hussie's tumblr. It's becoming increasingly difficult to tell when Hussie is telling the truth, joking, or disguising the truth as a joke.
And Damara's just been twiddling her thumbs for those same oh wait it's the dreambubbles. There's no guarantee that it's been the same length of time for both of them.

It's also possible that Damara hasn't even given a second thought to keeping up any psychic defense in all that time, too.
As far as she knew, Aranea's powers simply didn't work on her, If Aranea has been working on this at all (it seems likely, since she's also worked on her Sylph powers), Damara could have simply been unaware it was in her best interest to basically psychic arms race Aranea over all these millennia.
Also, again: When Vriska attempted to mind-control Aradia originally, she had only been honing her skills for a little over a decade. By the time we see her again after her death, she and Aranea able to command whole fleets of spirits together. Sure, said ghosts do cluster together when controlled in volume, but regardless, time does make a difference.
There is something darkly comic about Aranea going into her spiel about respecting Jake's personal boundaries, then "fixing" his mind without permission. It made me laugh out loud.
Well, we don't know exactly what she is doing/has done to Jake just yet, so it could be totally horrible or comparatively benign. Either way, she is getting very "ends justify the means," which is quite a dangerous position to be in, and her plans sound very god complex-y despite their relative benevolence of intent.
In any case, she's still really scary and still a really engaging character.
I don't think that Aranea is the main villain by any stretch of the imagination, but she is definitely a significant complicating factor. Then again, she could actually accidentally create or otherwise empower Lord English instead of erasing him, or else inadvertently end up supplanting him, so who knows? I sincerely doubt that Caliborn is going to cease being a crucial force in the comic any time soon, at the very least.
^^^ Note that in a perverse way, Aranea is exploiting Vriska's logic and the Lord British Postulate to her own advantage. She is, in her own way, a living glitch in the system... or exactly the kind of rogue player that the system wants. It is hard to say.

There's been too much build-up to Lord English being the final boss. Aranea is just going to kick things into high gear.
Or maybe I'm wrong, and Hussie will sweep aside three years of story for the sake of a twist. Wouldn't surprise me.
