In the latest entry of "I'm going to die alone and unloved"...
Dirk took you in and raised you as his own... You aren't really a troll, Dave. You're a human. Of course, it's not like this was immediately obvious. I mean, you're so completely indistinguishable from them.
H3Y! LOOK! L1ST3N!
i am NOT gettin out of this glubbin fin wwithout the pearl
Somewhere, someone is waiting for these masks. Just believe...
I'm seeing people complaining about the Pre-Scratch trolls, and I kinda see where they're coming from? But I can't condone it, like at all. These new guys are dorky, but I like them a lot, and I doubt they're gonna become main characters (or at least never moreso than the original batch of trolls were).
Kinda disappointed we didn't get to see Darkleer. Oh well. Soon.
Rose/Kanaya is CANON. That's pretty much all there is to say on the matter. (I know, the response was "maybe", but when someone asks if someone's your girlfriend and you say "maybe", that generally means 'something happened, not sure what it means, but it happened.' )
Okay, probably the most important part of the update plot-wise was everything Aranea said about Lord English--he was Caliborn, and when he transformed into LE Calliope died, and her dreamself is now a living macguffin. But...Rose/Kanaya is canon, Q.E.D.
Okay, apparently bringing him along to the end of the game gets you an extra treasure chest in the last room. I think. I may have just missed it the first time I went through the game. Regardless, I'm not playing through it a third time to check.
Also, concerning the character development in this thing, I'm pretty happy with it. I feel like Meenah's an actual character now instead of a talking cardboard cut-out. Sure, she's not the most likable character, but she's good enough to root for. She's practically a more likable version of Vriska.
Hussie did a good job with Kankri and Porrim too. Sure, Kankri's mostly a blowhard mixed with a social justice blogger, but he has genuine tenets to his personality. He's going to reject anything contrary to his worldview, but he's going to be polite (or, at the least, passive-agressive) while he does it. He also has that relationship with Porrim, which really expands his character. Porrim herself...well, she's solidly built. Interesting character with a logical backstory and whatnot. He kind of slipped up with Latula though. With the other pre-trolls, Hussie was doing a thing where they were essentially immature versions of the ancestors. Kankri's an inneffectual Sufferer, Porrim's a rebelling Dolorosa, etc. With Latula...I can't really see her in relation to Redglare. That, and she's kind of a cardboard cut-out of a character. That, and her quirk's so bad that I can barely read anything she says.

And he's still in the treasure chest. It's weird.
