Which episode was that from? I don't remember that exchange.

The Doctor Dances, during the "EVERYBODY LIVES" bit at the end

it's delivered rapid-fire, he doesn't respond to 'what' he goes back to talking about how, just this once, everybody lives

Now I remember that part. That was my favorite episode from Eccleston's run.

for me it was possibly edged out by the preceding episode, The Empty Child, but as a whole that story was definitely my favourite that season

Fair enough. I was just so touched by the ending that ended up crying a little bit. Which is a good thing to me.
  • Random thought: I wish they hadn't shown the monster in the Satan Pit. I think it would have worked better if they didn't, like in the episode Midnight.

i adore Midnight, but i think part of the point in The Satan Pit was that the devil, up close, *wasn't* all that scary, it's just a big silly red guy with horns making a lot of noise.  The real menace came from the person influenced by the devil, not the devil himself.

i really liked that story; it's my favourite of the second series, although i know it's a controversial choice due to, iirc, scientific inaccuracies, reliance on formula and the enslaved Ood.
  • rip the ood :(

Yeah, that was a sad ending.

You know, I never looked at it from that point of view. I'll have to go back and watch it again.

It's my favorite from that series too.

The 'I believe in her' moment still stands, for me, as one of the most satisfying, triumphant moments in Doctor Who, because it rings true for me on both the literal/material and the emotional/dramatic level.
  • removing all assumptions and associations first, and only adding them back skeptically
  • not letting one's judgement of denotations be clouded by connotations
  • freedom from the bias produced by stereotypes
  • judging things with an open mind, including the presumption that all other presumptions could be wrong and should not be assumed to be truths when they are merely statistical likelihoods at best
  • meanings of terms and processes could be different to different individuals
  • expressing them in common terms, and finding compromise and understanding through finding their greatest number of commonalities
  • determining shared goals of different factions
  • interpretation of creative artworks as an inherently subjective matter
  • to make reality of imagination

    D'aww!

Well, you're quite pretty anyway. :)

I'd decline a romantic relationship, since I have someone else in mind.  Though I'd certainly like to remain your friend.

  • What's That's Not Art, You Plebeian?
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
ABC Warner owns Adventure Time, so we can't do that episode

Also you mean "© American Broadcasting Companies, Inc." (possibly with a "d/b/a ABC Warner" in there)
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
It also effectively owns Citizen Kane so not that either
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
but if that's not ok swap those out for ZUN and I Love Lucy.
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
    or Watchmen
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
By "Avatar", do you mean the film or the TV series?
