    Steven seems like the kind of person who wouldn't accept payment for saving Earth from the Homeworld Gems because, to him, it's simply the right thing to do.

    Amethyst would gladly accept Earth currency and blow it on junk humans like because she's a fan of human stuff. Garnet would tell her no, naturally.

    It occurs to me it's been a long time since I touched Notepad, since of the first things I do when setting up a computer for myself now is install Notepad++

    Even the computers I used on campus had Notepad++ installed

    maybe there was a stock of opinion on a certain entity beforehand but it did not exceed a threshold to take action

    and there was corroborating reporting which catalyzed the crossing of a tipping point barrier

    I know why people want to believe that racists are all men in white pointy caps who burn crosses, or that classists are all Marie Antoinette types who look down at the unwashed masses from their luxury cars. I know why they want to demonize bigots.

    These people are definitely real, but they're not the main propagators of attitudes like those. Racism, classism, sexism, homophobia, etc. are mainly carried out unconsciously in the actions and judgements of normal people like you and me. And people don't want to believe that they're capable of transmitting harmful attitudes like those.

    It's easier to blame other people's mindsets than it is to look at yourself and change your own. But that's never going to solve the problem in the first place.

    You and I at some point must have carried out these attitudes. I'm sure we didn't intend to, but intent doesn't matter in a lot of cases. Maybe we even do it everyday, unthinkingly.

    What's important is to think critically about where those attitudes come from.
