Why did I start thinking about the population density of the picture, how a dwelling the size of one can might bit people the size of the people drawn (and concluding that they'd basically be one- or two-person dwellings), and comparing the proximity of agriculture in the picture to the typical proximity of agriculture in real life, where economics would likely have gotten in the way and caused the farmland to be developed, barring zoning laws.
The cans look roughly like two-story buildings, and I could conceivably fit a kitchen/living/dining area on the first floor and a bedroom on the second floor.
