It struck me as fan-created as well. I don't know it's suppose to be slightly self-hating, or if the last panel represents some sort of "uber-bronie" that every uses as a straw-man, but doesn't actually exist.

I'm never quite sure what to make of works like the above.

On one hand, the creator is definitely
suggesting bronies are are basement dwelling trolls, on the
other...well..the creator must have known a fair amount about bronies to
make that...and the posters in the back, too...

Who's the joke really on at this point?

Its supposed to be a jab at the fandom's more obsessive fans aka the fans that have disassociated themselves from reality

Obviously it's a stereotype, but it didn't exactly come from nowhere. You've seen the kind of fanart that gets produced, some of it has been posted here in the past.

Anyway, it's a piss take. No point in overthinking it.

(I say that, but my first thought seeing that picture was that Cheetos don't look like that.)

Yeah, associating a movement against a race and a movement against a fandom is pushing it. Especially since society isn't actively against cartoon ponies at this time and liking cartoon ponies is more likely to result in trolling rather than lynching.

Not to mention bronie haters already look a little stupid given that there's actually a another group that hasn't been considered. Those that don't give a shit enough create macros, dress up, design trendy looking posters expressing their hate.

Still, I'll add the "Complaining about being persecuted for liking the show by comparing it to civil right movements" to the "least favorite" category.
