I remember Kippurbird having a lot of complaints about the Eragon map. Mostly about the distances between independent nations being non-realistic
The only one I can remember specifically is that river near Uru'baen just disappearing. IIRC, the river was supposed to be flowing towards Uru'baen, and you can't just have a river disappear. Where does the water go?

The Colorado disappears before it can hit the ocean. Water seeps into the ground and makes groundwater. IT also evaporates. So, yes, assuming the river near Uru'baen is like the Colorado, it can, and does, disappear without making it to the sea.
