The Happy Mondays were the other major band in that scene. Strange that they were Factory's third big hit act after Joy Disivion and New Order. I'm not familiar enough with them to give you too many recommendations, however.
Coil, Musick to Play in the Dark Volumes One and Two and Moon's Milk in Four Phases. Less dancey, more nocturnal and surreal, but I think you'd find something to like here. Unless I've already made this suggestion?
On a less dire note, I've been listening to Ion Dissonance's Breathing is Irrelevant, and, uh, wow.
I'm not sure how to describe it. I know that their later stuff is considered "deathcore it's acceptable to like," but this is their first album and it's this weird, seamless hybrid of several genres which are rarely seen together yet, in hindsight, probably should have commingled earlier. You can sort of see it as the precursor to bands like Every Time I Die and such, but it's way more brutal and unhinged. I can see why they'd be drawn to death metal later; they were already leaning in that general direction.
the feeling you get when you drink too much caffeine?

also earlier I accidentally hurt myself while picking at my big toe. There was some bleeding but it stopped? I don't think that could have anything to do with it and now that I think about it at length the idea is kinda ridiculous
this is a shot in the dark but I don't suppose anyone has the new American Football album? I listened to their first late last year and I liked it a lot (you may or may not know or care that I spun "Football Season" out of some scraps of theirs). But I cannot find the new record (confusingly titled American Football, the same thing as their first) anywhere.
Yeah, it definitely comes across as the standard-setting it apparently is, from the comfort in constant audacity to the ridiculous names like that. It at least partially seems like a riff on the more extreme elements of metal music and scene with their own idiosyncratic twists (particularly the more electronic parts?), but music is not the language I'm accustomed to speaking.

With all that space I could totally send you Klaus Schulze's entire discography and that would barely dent it. Which is inherently ridiculous.
You should also listen to the Stone Roses' debut.
I knew you'd like it. :P
Pretty much every song on that album is a jam.
Because low-key experimental dance side-projects by Wire members are my fetish.
