    yeah I think most modern fonts use bézier curves

    oh it's still cool, just not like, standards-compliant

    METAFONT is from 1977 and vector-based (and more standardly, poking around, PostScript fonts are too)

    doesn't mean anyone's bothered doing the little swirly thing where all the lines fall apart

    Yeah, this is a font that's strictly vectors, though I wouldn't mind seeing what happens if you fed that code a font with Bézier curves in it.
