    of course he didn't (the actual, much-ridiculed line was 'where's that damn fourth chaos emerald')

    Shadow the Hedgehog occupies a weird place where it's trying to seem edgy, but not actually be too inappropriate for children

    so like, it's violent, but there's no blood (except green alien blood), there's occasional cussing, but it's only 'damn', and it's sort of dark but there's only one instance of main character death and it happens off-screen

    otoh guns are waved about all over the place and at one point Shadow appears to snap Robotnik's neck (but Robotnik shows up alive and well afterwards)
